PCEP is a unique forum for dialogue and cooperation between all of the different groups along the polyolefin value chain to transform our industry to keep maximum material in the economy, at its highest value, for as long as possible ― and so advance the circular economy.
As the value chain, PCEP has pledged to increase the volume of post-consumer recycled polyolefin content used in European products by 1m tonnes. This ambitious goal represents the largest polymer pledge made as part of the European Union’s Plastic Pledge campaign, which aims to see 10m tonnes of recycled content in European products by 2025 through voluntary industry action.
We are also committed to reusing or recycling 60% of collected polyolefin packaging and having more than 75% of polyolefin packaging designed for recycling by 2030; to improve collection and sorting; and, last but by no means least, to developing end markets that increase the use of recycled polyolefins as raw materials.
